STRATEGIC MILESTONES UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE HONOURABLE ATTORNEY-GENERAL AND COMMISSIONER FOR JUSTICE
All achievements recorded by the Office of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice were made possible through the unwavering support of His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Justice, the Judiciary, and the Executive Council.
1. Flag-off of the Judiciary Village Project, designed to provide state-of-the-art and befitting accommodation for the Judiciary, ensuring a more conducive and efficient environment for justice delivery.
2. Facilitation of the appointment of six new Judges to strengthen the Bench of the Ondo State Judiciary, reducing delays and improving the overall speed of adjudication.
3. Amendment of the High Court Law of Ondo State, increasing the number of judicial positions from 24 to 35, thereby expanding the capacity of the courts to handle cases and ease congestion.
4. Procurement of brand-new vehicles for various correctional facilities across the State, improving logistics, inmate transportation, and overall corrections management.
5. Recruitment of about 20 new Lawyers into the Ministry of Justice to reduce workload pressures on existing legal officers, enabling faster legal drafting, prosecution, and advisory services.
6. Appointment of Customary Court Judges to strengthen grassroots justice administration and ensure quicker resolution of community-based disputes.
7. Creation of the State Task Force Agency on Anti-Land-Grabbing, drastically reducing land-grabbing incidents in Ondo State and restoring confidence among property owners.
8. Presentation of an Executive Bill to protect bona fide landowners from land-grabbers’ activities, laying the legal foundation for stricter enforcement and protection of citizens’ property rights.
9. Appointment of Board Members to the Ondo State Law Commission to enhance the review, reform, and modernisation of State laws.
10. Presentation of an Executive Bill amending the State Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Abduction Law to provide stiffer penalties for offenders, strengthening the legal framework against violent crimes.
11. Promotion and implementation of financial independence for the Judiciary in Ondo State, ensuring that the courts receive direct and timely funding to operate effectively without undue financial constraints.
12. Approval of outfit and robe allowances for all Legal Officers in the employ of the State Government, boosting morale and supporting their professional needs.

17. Amendment of the State Law on Cultism, Rape, and Kidnapping, expanding its scope and strengthening the fight against these offences through clearer definitions, wider coverage, and the introduction of more stringent punishments to ensure effective deterrence.
18. Strengthened collaboration with all security outfits in the State, including the Amotekun Corps, the Police, the DSS, and the Nigerian Army, leading to improved intelligence sharing, coordinated security responses, and increased investment in security infrastructure. This synergy has enhanced community policing, reduced criminal activity, and supported peace and justice delivery across Ondo State, including the establishment of strategic control points in forest and border areas to curb cultism, kidnapping, land disputes, and farmer-herder clashes.
